Live Auditions.
We hold live, in-person auditions at points throughout the year. When a round opens, we publish the details here and across our social channels, including the locations and the roles we're casting for.
We don't audition for every role every time. Each round, we'll tell you exactly what we're looking for — so check what's open before you apply.
Live auditions are by application and confirmation only. You can't simply turn up; every place is offered in advance.
We announce each round here and across our social channels. Register your interest and we'll be in touch when the next round opens.

Auditioning from a distance
If you're a long way from the audition location — or based overseas — we'd never ask you to travel a great distance for a live, in-person slot. We regularly hear from artistes around the world.
Where that's the case, we'll offer an alternative — mention your location in your application and we'll guide you to the right option.
Online asynchronous audition
Record and submit your audition in your own time.
Live online audition
A real-time online session, where that's the better fit.
What it costs
No cost to audition.
Travel, accommodation and any other expenses are met by the auditionee.
On the day
Each audition slot begins on the half-hour. Auditions usually run 15–20 minutes, with time afterwards for us to make notes.
-
Arrive 30 minutes early
Check in 30 minutes before your slot. Your confirmation email includes a check-in QR code — we'll scan it on arrival. That half-hour gives you time to settle and review any materials we hand you.
-
Bring photo ID
We'll verify it alongside your QR check-in.
-
Come performance-ready
Present yourself as you would on stage — we may capture promotional images during the round.
What happens next depends on what you do.
Reading musicians
Your audition is a sight-reading assessment. At check-in you'll be given charts to review during your 30-minute preparation window, then you'll perform them.
You'll perform with a live band unless we've told you otherwise.
- Drummers and keyboard players — instruments are provided.
- Guitarists and bassists — please bring your own instrument. Amplification is provided.
Vocalists
Your audition has two parts:
- Two contrasting songs — requested in advance on your brief, performed with a live band (unless otherwise specified).
- One free-choice song — performed to a backing track you provide.
Your free-choice track must be a full backing track — no lead vocal (backing vocals are fine), no click. Submit it as an MP3 or WAV via the upload link in your brief, labelled:
[Your Name] Free Choice [Location – Date of Audition] Non-reading musicians and self-contained acts
Once you accept your audition, we'll send a brief with everything specific to your slot.
If you're a self-contained act — a guitar vocalist or piano vocalist — we'll ask for your full repertoire list (details on your brief). We audition established acts with a working repertoire already in place: a minimum of 150 pieces, with a clear path to building towards 300 by the end of a first contract if required. The sweet spot is around 350.
We'll select the pieces we'd like to hear from your list once you're in the room.
After your audition
We'll talk you through next steps at the end of your audition. In line with our recruitment policy, we don't proactively contact applicants whose auditions were unsuccessful — but if you'd like feedback or to know where you stand, get in touch and we'll happily help.
